Plantar Fasciitis

What is Plantar Fasciitis and how can we help you?

Plantar Fasciitis is a disorder of the connective tissue that supports the arch of the foot. It brings pain to the heel and bottom of the foot, usually the most severe during the first steps after a period of rest. The pain comes on gradually and is only in both feet about one-third of the time. It is commonly called heel spur syndrome or jogger’s heel.

Causes and Risk Factors

It is not clear what causes this, but the pain is brought on in many cases by bending the foot and toes upwards towards the shin. Risk factors that can bring on this disorder include standing for long periods, obesity, and rolling your foot inward.
