Primary Lymphedema
What is Primary Lymphedema and how can we help you?
Primary Lymphedema is a congenital or inherited condition in which genetic mutation causes malformation of the lymphatic systems. It causes swelling in the extremities, chest, pelvis, reduced range of motion and skin discolouration among other symptoms. It can begin at one of three times in life: at birth, at puberty or third decade, or after the age of 35.
While it is rare, STG Health and Wellness can help with symptoms to slow or stop its progression through vodder therapy and compression.
Causes and Risk Factors of Lymphedema
Lymphedema is genetic, but there are certain things that can make it more prevalent through one’s life. Those include obesity, surgery, inflammation, infection and trauma.
