VERTIGO

What is Vertigo and how can we help you?

One of the most common causes of vertigo is benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), which can cause symptoms of dizziness, nausea, a sense that the environment around you is spinning or moving, and unsteadiness or loss of balance. It is usually brought on by sudden movements of the head. This can happen when you turn over In bed, tip your head up or down or lie your head down.

Triggers for the symptoms of vertigo easily vary from person to person. While the symptoms most commonly last less than a minute, episodes can recur after going away for some time.

Causes and Risk Factors

BPPV is most often idiopathic with the cause being unknown. It most often occurs in people aged 50 and older, but can occur at any age and is more common in women than men. You can become more susceptible to BPPV if you have a previous head injury.
